Dr Innocent Maja
Dr Innocent is the founding and senior partner of the Law Firm. He holds the Bachelor of Laws Honours, Master of Laws and Doctor of Laws Degrees. He is a Legal Practitioner, Insolvency Practitioner, Conveyancer, Notary Public, Estate Administrator, Arbitrator as well as a Legal and Governance Consultant.
He is a cutting-edge and solution-oriented legal thought leader. He is a visionary, avid writer, innovative researcher, insightful teacher and equipped, versatile and strategic thinker as well as an excellent administrator, manager and leader.
He has considerable experience in contract negotiation, drafting and management; corporate structuring, corporate governance, corporate rescue, liquidations, coprorate and project finance, mergers and acquisitions and business leadership. He has vast experience in administering construction projects, energy industry transactions, road construction projects, telecommunications contracts, mining agreements, real estate transactions and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. In November 2022, Innocent distinguished himself as a business leader and was awarded the Zimbabwe TOP CEO Gold Winner by the ZIM CEO Network.
Innocent has extensive publications that include books, book chapters, articles in peer reviewed journals, consultancy reports, policy briefs, model legislation, etc. His publications include “The Law of Contract in Zimbabwe,’ a leading text used as authority by judges in judgements, lawyers in practice, academia and students. He is a distinguished academic leader having become Dean of the Faculty of Law, University of Zimbabwe and also receiving the Outstanding Law Academic Leader Award from ZIM CEO Network in July 2022.
Innocent is an experienced legal drafter. He has been heavily involved in the drafting of the Companies and Other Entities Act, Insolvency Act, Legal Practitioners Bill, Citizenship Bill, Immigration Bill, Traditional Leaders Bill, etc. He serves on various Boards including World Vision Zimbabwe, International Bridges to Justice.
Advocate Albert Damioni
Albert holds the Bachelor of Laws Honors and Master of Laws degrees. He has emerged as a brilliant corporate & commercial attorney over the years. He has built a reputation for aggressive strategies in capital markets, private equity, commercial litigation, securities litigation, business restructuring, real estate, mergers and acquisitions.
Albert is known to embrace hard work and professionalism. He dives headfirst into complex matters and has resolved important and complex matters for various corporates. He has emerged as the most sought-after transactional lawyer, having worked for international financiers and investors, mining entities, and various multinational corporations.
He is an accomplished entrepreneur with established interests in transport & logistics, electronics, mining, roads construction, land development, farming, and manufacturing. This entrepreneurial experience has armed Albert with vast knowledge necessary to understand client’s business strategies and find solutions to their most complex and challenging legal issues.
His other areas of practice include real estate & conveyancing, corporate rescue and insolvency, project development, and finance. He provides legal counsel to various corporate entities responsible for consulting, handling legal processes, developing their company policies, and providing guidance on various legal matters and compliance issues. He also negotiates deals and contracts for his clients.

Advocate Brighton Andrew Muramba-Masilo
Brighton holds the Bachelor of Laws Honours and Master of Laws in Commercial Law Degrees. He is currently pursuing his PHD studies.
Brighton represents Zimbabwean and global clients on all aspects of developing and protecting utility and design patent portfolios. He is a registered patent attorney and has experience preparing and filing Zimbabwe and Aripo patent applications; handling patent interference, reissue and reexamination proceedings; and counseling clients on issues of patentability, Trademarks, Copyrights validity, freedom to operate, and infringement avoidance. Brighton also provides strategic counseling on patent litigation matters.
He also specializes in Insurance law including representing clients in catastrophic personal injury cases arising from commercial motor vehicle wrecks, workplace accidents, explosions and fires, and defective vehicles and other products. In labor matters Brighton also do reviews, preparation, and negotiation of employment, shareholder, operating, and partnership agreements, medical director agreements, exclusive services agreements, practice sales, mergers, joint ventures, real estate acquisitions, leases, third party payor reimbursement, accident claims.
His practice also focuses on estate planning, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney for financial and health care, and advance directives. Brighton approaches estate planning on a client-by-client basis, with each client having the opportunity to create an estate plan tailored to their specific goals, financial needs, and family structure.
Brighton has an appreciation of business formation and labor law, business contracts, real estate, land use, and Immigration law focused on estate and guardianship matters. He also advised on banking and finance matters (including acquisition and leveraged finance; aviation finance; and corporate finance); mergers & acquisitions; private equity; structured finance; syndicated and bilateral financing structures; international transactions; acquisitions and management/leveraged buy-outs; and restructuring of corporate entities.
Dr Prosper S Maguchu
Prosper holds a Bachelor of Laws Honours Degree from the University of Zimbabwe, an LLM in Transnational Criminal Justice and a Doctor Juris from the University of Giessen.
He is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist.
He has distinguished himself as a practitioner and an academic and has attained the status of associate professor of law at Free University Amsterdam.
He is an avid researched and pragmatist specializing in Financial Crimes and Large-Scale Conspiracies/Serious crime, Sanctions, and International Asset Recovery from a Human rights-based approach. He provides tailor made solutions in anti-money laundering compliance and auditing to private firms, not for profit organizations and state regulatory institutions.
Dr Justice Alfred Mavedzenge
Justice is a constitutional and human rights scholar with several publications on the Zimbabwean and comparative constitutional law at the university of Cape town and his thesis revolves around constitutional interpretation, particularly how certain fundamental rights may be interpreted as alternative constitutional
grounds for the domestic enforcement of the Government of Zimbabwe’s international obligation to make adequate housing accessible to everyone.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Midlands State University), LLB (University of South
Africa) and LLM Constitutional and Administrative Law (University of Cape Town) and has in the past clerked for several senior and eminent judges in the SADC region, with his most recent assignment being researching and clerking for the Judges in the Supreme Court of Namibia. Justice has vast experience as ac onsultant on legislative drafting, democracy, human rights and governance in Southern and East Africa.
Evidence James
Consultant
Evidence James is a Consultant at Maja and Associates. He holds a LLB (Cum laude) from the University of Fort Hare, an LLM in Tax Law from the University of Cape Town and is currently pursuing A PhD Candidate in Commercial Law (Tax Law) at the University of Cape Town
EJ (as he is affectionately known) has a great passion for Commercial law with a particular focus on Tax Law. He teaches tax law and coaches tax law research candidates. He is an Affiliate member of the South African Institute of Taxation.
James handles a wide variety of tax issues including Corporate income Tax, Taxation of Extractive industry, Tax Disputes, VAT, Personal Income Tax, Customs, Estate Duty and International tax. He is an emerging force in tax research and policy development also with recent publications in presumptive taxes and Taxation of the digital economy. James is one of the minds you need on your tax matters to find tax solutions with professionalism, expertise and speed in execution.
